Adaptive training

Training that adapts to the day you have

A plan written three weeks ago does not know how you slept. HAVYT combines workout tracking with training that can scale down without the week falling apart.

The problem with a fixed plan

Structured training works until the day it does not fit. Then you have two options: push through a session your body is not ready for, or skip it and watch the plan start to unravel.

Most apps only recognise the second one, and they record it as failure. Over a few weeks that is usually what ends the habit — not the training itself, but the sense that you have already fallen behind.

HAVYT treats a lighter session as a legitimate version of the day rather than a missed one.

How adaptive training works in HAVYT

  1. Check in firstPain, stiffness, energy, sleep and mood, before you decide what the session looks like. Recovery signals from Apple Health sit beside them if you connect it.
  2. See the plan in that lightYour training plan is still there. What changes is the context you are reading it in.
  3. Scale or swapTake the session as written, reduce it, or move to a mobility session when that is the honest call.
  4. Log what happenedSets, reps, weight and rest, or a GPS activity. The record reflects the day you actually had.

What you can track

Strength sessions

Sets, reps, weight and rest, logged in as few taps as the interface allows.

Mobility sessions

A shorter, gentler option that still counts toward your consistency.

GPS activities

Outdoor activity recorded with route and distance.

Recovery signals

Sleep, resting heart rate and HRV from Apple Health, or entered by hand.

What this looks like in practice

  • You slept badly and your stiffness is up. You take the mobility session instead, and the week stays intact.
  • You feel good after a light week and take the full session rather than the one the plan scaled down.
  • You look back over a month and see that the weeks you adjusted were the weeks you kept going.

Where the judgement stays yours

HAVYT does not decide whether it is safe for you to exercise. It shows you what you recorded and makes a lighter option easy to take; the decision is yours, and where a condition or injury is involved, your clinician’s. For what the evidence says about exercise and chronic pain, and about exercise during an AS flare, see the guides.

HAVYT is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice.

Common questions

What is adaptive training?

Training that changes with your current state rather than following a fixed schedule regardless. In HAVYT that means your daily check-in sits alongside the plan, and scaling a session down or swapping in mobility is a normal option rather than a failure.

Does HAVYT decide whether I should train?

No. It gives you your own recorded context and makes a lighter session easy to choose. The decision stays with you.

Can I follow a structured plan?

Yes. HAVYT has training plans and full workout logging for sets, reps, weight and rest. Adaptation is something you can use, not something forced on every session.

Does a mobility session break my streak?

No. Showing up in a lighter form still counts. That is deliberate — consistency that only survives perfect weeks does not last.

Can I track runs and outdoor activity?

Yes. HAVYT records GPS activities alongside strength and mobility sessions.

Train with the day you actually have

Start with a check-in, then decide what the session should be.
